THE MOMENT I STOPPED HIDING
A Return to My Authentic Inner Self
I didn’t set out to do this work. I simply couldn’t keep living disconnected from myself. For years, I followed the path I thought I was supposed to walk—earning a Master’s in Biological Sciences, working in research, becoming a full-time wife and mother. From the outside, it looked like I had done everything “right.” But inside, something felt dimmed. There was a quiet ache I couldn’t name.
Then my mother passed away. And the ground beneath me gave way. Grief cracked open something deeper than sadness—it opened a portal. I began to question everything I had built my identity around. It wasn’t just loss. It was an invitation. In the months that followed, I went on a 10-day silent Vipassana retreat. What broke open there couldn’t be undone. I entered what many call a dark night of the soul—and it was messy, sacred, and clarifying. I met parts of myself I’d long buried. That’s when I found the Compassion Key modality. Or maybe it found me.
I began to feel myself again—not through fixing, but through remembering. But the real threshold came when I followed an unexpected nudge from the Universe: an email about a spiritual trip to Machu Picchu with Mike Dooley, author of Notes from the Universe. I didn’t overanalyze it. I just felt a full-body yes. What unfolded was more than a trip—it was an activation. Every single person I met felt like a soul mirror. Our guide, a shaman, spoke truths that struck a chord so deep I sobbed during a mountaintop meditation he led. I wept as lifetimes of shame, judgment, and separation dissolved. Forgiveness moved through me.
And for the first time, I fully accepted who I am. I had never felt so supported, so loved, so seen by the Universe. I showed up fully open, present, and ready to receive—and what I experienced was not just healing. It was a revelation: this gets to be my reality. A version of life built on joy, expansion, intuition, and self-trust.
And then, as if the Universe wanted to mirror back everything i was just beginning to believe—
I offered a session to a well known metaphysical teacher I deeply respected. He said yes. Afterward, he not only shared a heartfelt testimonial, he honored the experience by choosing to pay the full price, even though it was freely given. It wasn't about payment, it was about reflection. He saw the depth oof my work and met it with reverence. It was as if the Universe itself—through the teacher—looked me in the eye and said:
“You’re on the right path. You’re ready. You deserve this.” If I had any doubts left about embracing my gifts, my “woo,” my truth— they dissolved on that mountaintop.
This was not a coincidence. This was remembrance. I wasn’t here to keep hiding the most sacred parts of myself. I was here to be the mirror. To hold space—not to fix or heal, but to guide, reflect, and walk beside those ready to remember their wholeness and come home to their own truth.
